HOPE's Executive Director
Kerstin Rodgers
Kerstin Rodgers
was born and raised in Germany and has lived in the U.S. for about 10 years.
She holds a B.A. Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Business Management from
Saint Leo University.
Kerstin came to
HOPE in May of 2008 and is excited about this great opportunity. She feels that
the position as Executive Director is “custom-made” for her as it combines all
of her talents together with her passion for people and horses.
Horses have
always been a desire of Kerstin’s heart. She started riding at the age of 12
and has had over 20 years of experience in different aspects of equine related
activities including experience as Riding Instructor, Horse Trainer, Wrangler,
etc. Kerstin is currently on the Board of Director’s of the Williston Horseman’s
Association and is an active member of an Equestrian Drill Team.
Kerstin also has
a background in Human Resources, Legal, Instructional, Sales, etc. and has
gained great knowledge and insight in dealing with individuals who are
physically and mentally handicapped through her background in Special Education.
Kerstin has
always believed that animals, especially horses, can have a great affect on a
person’s well-being. Not only has she experienced this herself but she also has
studied/researched and seen the positive affects pets can have on people.
Kerstin is
looking forward to helping HOPE grow in every aspect and is looking to become
certified as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor through NARHA.
