Cathi Brown

Cathi Brown is a native Floridian who describes herself as having "an ongoing love affair with horses." Her first spoken word was "horse." Cathi has been involved with equine assisted therapy for eight years. In 2000, she completed a Master degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a specialty in Adapted Physical Education. The joy Cathi found being involved with equine assisted therapy inspired her continue her education; graduating from the University of Florida in 2004 with a Master of Occupational Therapy. Cathi works full time as an occupational therapist for the Alachua County School Board and works with HOPE several afternoons a week.

Cathi is certified as a therapeutic riding instructor through the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association and is currently pursuing the necessary requirements to become a registered therapist with the American Hippotherapy Association.  She is a co-founder of HOPE and serves as treasurer.
