HOPE's Programs
Horses for Heroes
Horses for Heroes is a national program developed by NARHA. HOPE will be starting this program during 2009 and will offer therapy services and riding lessons to military veterans and service personnel free of charge. HOPE will be working with local veterans organizations to screen participants and volunteers. If you are interested in finding out more about the program, please contact us.
Pony Pals
Another new program in development at HOPE, Pony Pals, will offer visitation services by our new miniature horse, Rocky. Rocky has come to HOPE from Personal Ponies, a group that places minis with organizations and individuals for therapeutic needs. Rocky will be visiting hospitals, and hopefully schools, nursing facilities and other community organizations before the end of the year. Rocky is in need of a guardian angel to ensure his needs are met each and every month - if you are interested in sponsoring Rocky, or have questions about the program please contact us.
Special Thanks to the following benefactors:
Burkhardt Sales and Service
Veronica Della Porta - For generously donating to offset the costs of Goosebumps ERU ophthalmic veterinary care.
The Ginders - For all your efforts and support.
Everyone who attended the Fresh Feast on the Farm - This first annual event was a huge SUCCESS! We reached our goal of a net profit of well over $10,000.
UF SOTA - These students can't be thanked enough for putting together a fabulously successful Giddy Up Gators 5k run. Horses for Heroes brought home over $3000 to start serving veterans and service men and women.
